Healthcare Inspector in Malmö

At the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO), you will be part of developing state supervision and licensing processes – work that contributes to safer and more secure health and social care. We are now looking for a healthcare inspector in Malmö.

About the Job

As an inspector, you will investigate and assess the professional practice of licensed healthcare personnel based on current laws and regulations, with a focus on patient safety.

Your main tasks as an inspector will include:

• investigating cases related to the professional practice of licensed healthcare personnel, for example related to illness (e.g., addiction), competence, prescription of medications, care and treatment, or record-keeping
• reviewing patient records, prescriptions, and other relevant documentation
• conducting conversations and meetings with practitioners under IVO's supervision
• preparing decisions in certain cases
• being the lead case handler in some cases and a co-handler in others, depending on the scope and nature of the cases
• working closely with colleagues nationally, including inspectors from various professions as well as supervisory dentists and physicians
• contributing to cross-professional assessments and joint positions.

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, located in Malmö. Travel for work may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Swedish nursing license
• at least five years of current experience in somatic or psychiatric care
• good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

The role requires high standards of objectivity, integrity, good judgment, and analytical skills to ensure legally secure assessments. To succeed, good collaboration skills, confidence in one's own competence, and the ability to work independently and drive cases forward with structure and responsibility are essential. The role also requires the ability to adapt to changing working methods and new conditions.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

• experience working with supervision and investigations
• experience working as a leader

Your workplace is geographically located at the office in Malmö. Your colleagues, with whom you have close collaboration, are located both in Malmö and at IVO's other offices across the country.
